Stories that Must be Told

Not all writers come to the blank page knowing exactly what to write. In my case, I had no clue, but I did have stories I couldn’t leave alone. I knew they must be shared. What genre was I going to choose? Biography? Fiction? Memoir? In my journey of taking one writing class after another, I found my answers.
How about you? How do you find the direction you want to take in your writing?
We’ll be talking about these topics, and more in our discussion.
- How did I decide to turn a biography into fiction?
- Was my own memoir imbedded in the story?
- What is it like to write historical fiction?
- What is it like to mix genres by writing a series of memoirs in the form of a culinary/travel series?
- What was the draw of food in all my books?
All these questions and more will be answered in conversation with Linda Joy Myers and me during her NAMW teleseminar.
