Alexis Marie Chute is the author of the multi-award-winning debut memoir called Expecting Sunshine: A Journey of Grief Healing and Pregnancy After Loss (She Writes Press, April 2017). Alexis Marie will discuss the impetus behind her story and how her writing became a tool to help others find healing. She will share her journey of editing and publishing, along with her revelations about tackling taboo topics. Alexis Marie will candidly disclose how Expecting Sunshine has changed her life, both personally and professionally, and how she is already eagerly working on her next memoir. Alexis Marie Chute is the author of the multi-award-winning memoir Expecting Sunshine: A Journey of Grief, Healing and Pregnancy After Loss. Her next book, Above the Star, the first in the 8th Island Trilogy, will be released May 2018. Alexis Marie is also a distinguished artist, photographer, and filmmaker. She has her Bachelors of Fine Arts in Art and Design and her Masters of Fine Arts in Creative Writing. Alexis Marie is the director-producer of a feature film to accompany her memoir called Expecting Sunshine: The Truth about Pregnancy After Loss. Her writing is widely published in places such as TIME, Today’s Parent, Savvy Mom, and Canadian Family. Her artwork is represented by the AR&S Gallery at the Art Gallery of Alberta.
