July Roundtable Discussion–Free for all

Write, Publish, and Promote Your Work-One Post at a Time

With Nina Amir, author of How to Blog a Book

July 12, 2012

4 PM PDT   5 PM MDT   6 PM CDT   7 PM EDT

I hope all of you will come to this terrific discussion! I am still surprised when I talk about blogging with wanna-be published writers–and they shrug or act as if it’s a waste of their time. Or they still have the outmoded idea that a blog is where you write in your own journal. A blog is part of your platform–a network where you engage your readers–and–drum roll–Nina is going to talk with us about blogging as a way to create your book. I’ve known Nina for a long time–and she’s a wonderful fount of information. We are celebrating at NAMW the recent release of her new book.

Nina has this to say about blogging a book:

Despite the fact that some experts said the blog-to-book trend reached its height in 2009, publishers have continued to offer bloggers book contracts in larger and larger numbers. Most of these bloggers, however, never set out to write a book. They simply blogged their way to a book deal. Writers have an advantage. They can actually compose their books from scratch on their blogs. In other words, they can blog their books one post at a time, thus writing, publishing and promoting them–all at the same time–so they build the platform necessary to create a successful book–one that sells to publishers and to readers.

During this roundtable, Nina Amir, author of How to Blog a Book: Write, Publish and Promote Your Work One Post at a Time (Writer’s Digest Books), will discuss:

  • Could your blog become the source of material for your next memoir?
  • Could you actually blog your whole memoir from scratch in cyberspace?
  • What are the ins and outs of blogging books?
  • How can you make your blog a beacon for publishers and readers?

Nina Amir, Inspiration-to-Creation Coach, inspires people to combine their purpose and passion so they Achieve More Inspired Results. She motivates both writers and non-writers to create publishable and published products, careers as authors and to achieve their goals and fulfill their purpose. She blogged her book, How to Blog a Book, Write, Publish and Promote Your Work One Post at a Time (Writer’s Digest Books), in five months.
