When young writers announce they are writing a memoir, often they get this response: “What—you’re too young! You haven’t lived enough yet.” What an unwelcome response to the young memoir writer!
You do not have to be over 40 to have a lot to write about. In fact, the young memoirist genre is growing, especially in the area of travel and recovery.
Join Speaker & Author of American Gypsy Oksana Marafioti, Elisabeth Eaves, author of Wanderlust, and NAMW President, Linda Joy Myers, to discuss this significant area in memoir writing.

Question for Aug. 4 teleseminar: How do you deal with the lack of knowledge about options in your youth that affected your story? Do you do a reflective writing from your current age now and shift verb tenses from telling the story? Or what other techniques, tactics, ways have you handled this dilemma?
We just received this question from from Mary Beth Alban in Rossmoor of Walnut Creek, CA:
Won’t it be nice if parents, teachers and concerned relatives give some knowledge , some insights to the young boys and girls every so often, instead of just feeding them, clothing them and giving money to spend? ” I did not have time” is a lame excuse .
