Frequently Asked Questions

1. How do I become a member of NAMW?
Registration to the NAMW is easy. Click here to BECOME A MEMBER OF NAMW.

2. What benefits will I receive as a member?
As a member, you will receive the NAMW welcome kit, a unique package of online and hard copy resources to help get you started on your exciting journey of memoir writing. Click here to see full benefits list.

3. How do I renew my membership?
A year after you first become a member of NAMW, your access to this website will automatically be demoted to a Guest user level where you won’t be able to access the Members Area links. Instead of viewing the member pages, you will be redirected to a page where you can purchase for a renewal of your NAMW membership.  After you renew your membership, you will be able to access the member pages again using your old Username and Password.

If you renew your membership prior to the expiration of your current membership, the cost is $127 and your membership dates will be manually modified by the NAMW Web team to reflect a full 365 days worth of membership plus any additional days based on the number of days left on your current membership.

4. Can I cancel my membership?
You are a member until your renewal date. Because of all the generous downloads and benefits that come with your membership, there are no refunds should you change your mind after you register. Your membership will expire exactly one (1) year after you first paid for it, at which time, you will be unable to access the member pages and be redirected instead to a page where you can opt to renew membership. At that time, you can decide not to renew your membership–but you will miss out on future benefits and free resources that we will be providing. We always add new and interesting teleseminars and benefits each year to help you achieve your writing goals.

5. How do I sign up for the newsletter?
Members are automatically entitled to receive the NAMW newsletter. For non-members who would like to receive the newsletter, please visit www.namw.org and look for the sign-up link on the right side of the page. You get a free e-book is provided when you sign up for the newsletter.

6. What are teleseminars? How do I join one?
Teleseminars are inspirational and instructive courses that you participate in from the comfort of your home. Teleseminars are open to NAMW members. They are designed to help you begin, develop, and complete your memoir, learn about the publishing process, and inspire you to write. All teleseminars are facilitated by experts in the field of memoir writing. To view a list of our member-teleseminars, click here.

NAMW Members-only Teleseminars are part of the member benefits for NAMW. Members are given dial-in access to connect with the call. In case a member is not able to join us live, audio downloads of the teleseminar will be available on the site within the members area. Members will be notified via email about new downloads and reminders for new events.

There are times when we also offer FREE TELESEMINAR PREVIEWS where non-members can participate in. Our teleseminar preview offerings are FREE for everyone to attend. We provide potential students the opportunity to sample an online workshop before they actually commit to enroll in a long-term version of the class theme being previewed for free. A subscription form is made available where you can sign-up and receive the call-information to connect with the call. We often offer early-bird discounts for the formal workshops, to people who sign-up for our previews.

7. What is a Live Teleseminar?

One of the great inventions for ongoing learning is the Internet, and another way to be in “class” is through a LIVE teleseminar. I have been able to listen to many great new ideas in writing, business, and healing through the internet, and now here at NAMW, we want to harness this easy to use technique to help memoir writers–you–learn new writing techniques, find out how you can structure your stories, learn about publishing options, and many other useful topics that help memoir writers become successful authors.

This is how it works: you will receive a phone number to use for all the teleseminars through NAMW. You call this phone number and are told to enter your teleconference code and #. That’s all there is to it. You will be on the call with me and the presenter, and others who are able to join us live. All of the information on the call is recorded, including questions asked by the participants.

Your membership benefit teleconferences or teleseminars–they are the same thing–will last about an hour with time during the call for you to ask questions of the presenter. This is a great opportunity to learn from the presenters directly. They will be answering questions that are specific to your needs.

These live calls are then placed as a downloadable archive on the membership part of the site for you to download, copy to a CD, or listen to as often as you like.

That is all there is to it!

Live teleseminars are a terrific way to learn in the comfort of your home. You don’t have to get dressed, you can wear your pajamas, and you don’t have to take notes unless you want to. What is great about it is that you will have access to a lot of people with the knowledge and expertise to help you become a successful and happy memoir writer!
